Hendrik Witbooi, once chief of the Namaqua people has been depicted on all Namibian banknotes. He was responsible for leading the revolts against German rule in the early 20th Century. However, now on the $10 and $20 dollar notes can be found a portrait of Sam Nujoma, the founding President of Namibia.
