How we display buy back rates
You might notice the Trinidad & Tobago dollar rates shown here are different to the Trinidad & Tobago dollar rates offered by currency suppliers on our comparison pages. The rates are actually the same but are just presented in different ways. When we talk about the TTD / GBP exchange rate, we show the TTD rate relative to the pound so a rate of 0.1049 literally means 1 TTD = 0.1049 GBP.
However, UK currency suppliers choose to show this rate in terms of the amount of Trinidad & Tobago dollars you would need to exchange to receive 1 GBP, so (1 /) 0.1049 becomes 9.537. Or put another way, 9.537 TTD = 1 GBP. The two rates are interchangeable but currency suppliers prefer to show the second rate which they call the buy back rate.
