How we display buy back rates
You might notice the Ukrainian hryvnia rates shown here are different to the Ukrainian hryvnia rates offered by currency suppliers on our comparison pages. The rates are actually the same but are just presented in different ways. When we talk about the UAH / GBP exchange rate, we show the UAH rate relative to the pound so a rate of 0.01351 literally means 1 UAH = 0.01351 GBP.
However, UK currency suppliers choose to show this rate in terms of the amount of Ukrainian hryvnia you would need to exchange to receive 1 GBP, so (1 /) 0.01351 becomes 74.00. Or put another way, 74.00 UAH = 1 GBP. The two rates are interchangeable but currency suppliers prefer to show the second rate which they call the buy back rate.
