How we display buy back rates
You might notice the Gambian dalasi rates shown here are different to the Gambian dalasi rates offered by currency suppliers on our comparison pages. The rates are actually the same but are just presented in different ways. When we talk about the GMD / GBP exchange rate, we show the GMD rate relative to the pound so a rate of 0.01087 literally means 1 GMD = 0.01087 GBP.
However, UK currency suppliers choose to show this rate in terms of the amount of Gambian dalasi you would need to exchange to receive 1 GBP, so (1 /) 0.01087 becomes 92.01. Or put another way, 92.01 GMD = 1 GBP. The two rates are interchangeable but currency suppliers prefer to show the second rate which they call the buy back rate.
