How we display buy back rates
You might notice the Qatar riyal rates shown here are different to the Qatar riyal rates offered by currency suppliers on our comparison pages. The rates are actually the same but are just presented in different ways. When we talk about the QAR / GBP exchange rate, we show the QAR rate relative to the pound so a rate of 0.2100 literally means 1 QAR = 0.2100 GBP.
However, UK currency suppliers choose to show this rate in terms of the amount of Qatar riyals you would need to exchange to receive 1 GBP, so (1 /) 0.2100 becomes 4.761. Or put another way, 4.761 QAR = 1 GBP. The two rates are interchangeable but currency suppliers prefer to show the second rate which they call the buy back rate.
