How we display buy back rates
You might notice the Russian ruble rates shown here are different to the Russian ruble rates offered by currency suppliers on our comparison pages. The rates are actually the same but are just presented in different ways. When we talk about the RUB / GBP exchange rate, we show the RUB rate relative to the pound so a rate of 0.006613 literally means 1 RUB = 0.006613 GBP.
However, UK currency suppliers choose to show this rate in terms of the amount of Russian rubles you would need to exchange to receive 1 GBP, so (1 /) 0.006613 becomes 151.2. Or put another way, 151.2 RUB = 1 GBP. The two rates are interchangeable but currency suppliers prefer to show the second rate which they call the buy back rate.
