How we display buy back rates
You might notice the Fiji dollar rates shown here are different to the Fiji dollar rates offered by currency suppliers on our comparison pages. The rates are actually the same but are just presented in different ways. When we talk about the FJD / GBP exchange rate, we show the FJD rate relative to the pound so a rate of 0.3390 literally means 1 FJD = 0.3390 GBP.
However, UK currency suppliers choose to show this rate in terms of the amount of Fiji dollars you would need to exchange to receive 1 GBP, so (1 /) 0.3390 becomes 2.950. Or put another way, 2.950 FJD = 1 GBP. The two rates are interchangeable but currency suppliers prefer to show the second rate which they call the buy back rate.
