How we display buy back rates
You might notice the Norwegian krone rates shown here are different to the Norwegian krone rates offered by currency suppliers on our comparison pages. The rates are actually the same but are just presented in different ways. When we talk about the NOK / GBP exchange rate, we show the NOK rate relative to the pound so a rate of 0.07995 literally means 1 NOK = 0.07995 GBP.
However, UK currency suppliers choose to show this rate in terms of the amount of Norwegian krone you would need to exchange to receive 1 GBP, so (1 /) 0.07995 becomes 12.51. Or put another way, 12.51 NOK = 1 GBP. The two rates are interchangeable but currency suppliers prefer to show the second rate which they call the buy back rate.
