How we display buy back rates
You might notice the Omani rial rates shown here are different to the Omani rial rates offered by currency suppliers on our comparison pages. The rates are actually the same but are just presented in different ways. When we talk about the OMR / GBP exchange rate, we show the OMR rate relative to the pound so a rate of 2.070 literally means 1 OMR = 2.070 GBP.
However, UK currency suppliers choose to show this rate in terms of the amount of Omani rials you would need to exchange to receive 1 GBP, so (1 /) 2.070 becomes 0.4832. Or put another way, 0.4832 OMR = 1 GBP. The two rates are interchangeable but currency suppliers prefer to show the second rate which they call the buy back rate.
