I would go nowhere else for my foreign currency . Mel in the Wakefield branch is the best .

Bought Euros
Looked online and it said rate for euro was 1.13. Went to my local branch who told me with guarantee buy back how much I would get. After she took my money I asked what the buy bak guarantee was. I was then told I had paid £3.95 for this. There was no explanation of how this worked before hand. There was no explanation of the rate I was getting. When I got home I saw that the rate I had was 1.06. I have now gone back to the shop used the buy back walked up the road and got my euros at 1.13. Sorry I will never return.

Bought £1,050 worth of Canadian dollars
Tried to load my card prior to my flight to Canada. All payments seemed to fail due to poor connection however payments were taken from my back account twice. When I contacted Mastercard they said transfers had failed and that they would look into it and reply in 5 working days. We wish we hadn’t taken this card out as I now have to spend some of my holiday chasing Mastercard.

I am very sorry to hear about the difficulties you experienced whilst trying to load your card before your trip to Canada. I can completely appreciate how frustrating and worrying it must have been to see payments leave your bank account when the transactions appeared to fail.
Transactions and transfers on the Hays Travel Money Card are managed directly by Mastercard. As such, Mastercard are responsible for investigating any failed loads and duplicate payments.
I understand that you have already contacted Mastercard and that they advised they would investigate and respond within five working days. If you have not yet received a response, or if you would like us to escalate your concerns on your behalf, please email our specialist team at Online.Support@Hays-Travel.co.uk and we will be happy to liaise with Mastercard on this situation.

Ordered a currency card
I loaded up my currency card to use on a cruise
When I went to register the card with the cruise line they would not accept it !
As you can imagine I was very worried about paying and had to use my debit card with a limited amount on it.
On return I tried to use the same card several times as payment, but again it was not accepted as it kept saying I have used the pin no too many times
I then went to draw out the cash at a cash machine a few days later and was charged a fee for withdrawal
all in all a very bad and infuriating experiene

Bought my currency today from Mel at Wakefield. She was super lovely and friendly, meaning we got to have a proper chat all while she remained professional and efficient in her job. She explained everything super easy and made it all great to understand.

Bought £10,000 worth of US dollars
I purchased £10,000 of Us Dollars from Hays Travel in Gateshead and i must say the young man who sorted this all out for me was a saint, from start to finish he kept me updated with which documents i needed, when the dollars would arrive and called me when they came into stock, the entire process and transaction was smooth, straight forward and efficient, i could not of asked for a better experience and will be back again in future.
