I placed a click and collect order for euros and received a call on the same day to tell me my money was in store. The lady who served me was very polite and pleasant as was the lady who gave me a call.

Bought travel money
I ordered currency by 'click and collect' but when I went into the branch, there was a sign saying "bureau closed". I asked an assistant what to do, and was told to come back in 30 minutes as all staff were busy with other customers. I returned in 30 minutes, but again the bureau was closed. The assistant said they were waiting for computers to be updated. I was annoyed as I had telephoned the Hays branch to check opening times and was not advised there might be an issue. I could not return later in the day, so was unable to get my currency. I wont use Hays again.

Bought £600 worth of Indonesian rupiahs
Ordered currency in my local branch and after I'd collected it I became aware that the rate was very different to that quoted on the website. When I queried it I was told the 'click and collect' rate online was always substantially better than ordering in person. This was not a small percentage difference - I was effectively £50 worse off on a £600 transaction. I won't make that mistake again!

Bought £85 worth of Euros
All the staff in Washington are so helpful. I was greeted with a smile by all the staff. I believe I was served by a Trainee called Rachel, but had she not mentioned she was a trainee I would have never noticed. Thank you so much to all the Staff at the Washington Branch, I will definitely be returning the next time I need currency, maybe even a cheeky holiday. Thank you again Hays :)

Bought £311 worth of Euros
I normally use another provider for currency in Worthing but wanted to stay locally, staff all very friendly my only moan was I ordered €340 £301.67 & received a call saying the order was ready on arrival order was made up to €350 at £311.67 ! Didn't bother to make a fuss but shouldn't have been over what I'd ordered.

Bought £100 worth of South African rand
Ordered currency online, said it would be available the next day. They rang to say they didn’t have any and they’d get it in four days which was after it was needed. This is the third time this has happened with Hays so I won’t be using again.

Bought £330 worth of Euros
I visited my local Hays Travel branch, which is conveniently just a short drive from home, to exchange currency. While the staff member who assisted me was polite and the transaction went smoothly, I was disappointed to learn afterward that I would have received a better exchange rate had I ordered online in advance.
Unfortunately, this important detail wasn’t mentioned during my visit. As a customer, I would expect to be informed of all available options to make the best decision. A simple heads-up would have made a meaningful difference, and I hope Hays Travel considers being more transparent about this in the future.
